Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival/Negombo

Upon arrival at Negombo, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can unwind and relax after your journey. This first day is designed for rest and preparation for the cultural experiences ahead. Enjoy a leisurely evening in Negombo, taking in the coastal views and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.

Day 02: Negombo/Chilaw/Kandy (Munneshwaram/Mannawari Temple)/Short Kandy City Tour

On Day 2, journey from Negombo to Chilaw to visit the ancient Munneshwaram Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Afterwards, proceed to Mannawari Temple, another important site tied to the Ramayana epic. Following these spiritual visits, head to Kandy for a brief city tour. Kandy is known for its religious significance, and you’ll have the opportunity to explore the city’s rich cultural offerings, including a glimpse of the famous Temple of the Tooth.

Day 03: Kandy/Nuwara Eliya (Sri Baktha Hanuman Kovil / Seetha Amman Kovil)

Day 3 takes you from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, a picturesque town in the central highlands. In Nuwara Eliya, visit the sacred Sri Baktha Hanuman Kovil, believed to be the place where Lord Hanuman is said to have searched for Sita. Afterwards, head to the Seetha Amman Kovil, a significant temple linked to the Ramayana epic, where it is believed that Sita was held captive by Ravana. These temples offer a deep connection to the Ramayana mythology and offer insight into the island’s spiritual heritage. 

Day 04: Nuwara Eliya/Bandarawela (Divurumpola/Gayathri Pedam)

On Day 4, travel from Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawela, where you will visit Divurumpola, an ancient site where it is believed that Sita underwent an ordeal by fire to prove her chastity. Next, head to the Gayathri Pedam, another important site from the Ramayana connected to the legend of Sita. Both locations will immerse you in the spiritual significance of the island’s Ramayana legacy. 

Day 05: Bandarawela/Ella/Katharagama (Ravana Falls/Ravana Caves)

Day 5 takes you to the mystical Ravana Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka, linked to the Ramayana through the story of Ravana. You will also explore the Ravana Caves, which are believed to be the hiding place of Sita during her captivity. Afterwards, proceed to Katharagama, a significant religious site with connections to the Ramayana epic, where you will visit the Katharagama Temple, dedicated to the Hindu gods. 

Day 06: Katharagama (Visit the Temple)/Ussangoda/Rumasela in Galle/Seenigama Temple Hikkaduwa/Sri Anjaneyar Temple Colombo

On Day 6, begin your day with a visit to the Katharagama Temple, a sacred site dedicated to Lord Murugan. Afterwards, travel to Ussangoda, a legendary site where it is believed that Ravana took off with Sita in his flying chariot. Then, head to Rumasela in Galle, followed by a visit to Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa, dedicated to Ganesha. Later, finish the day with a visit to Sri Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo, dedicated to Lord Hanuman. 

Day 07: Colombo/Departure
