Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival/Colombo

Your adventure begins with your arrival in Colombo, where you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a restful evening to recover from your flight and get ready for the exciting journey ahead.

Day 02: Colombo/Kandy (Temple of Tooth, Traditional Dance Show)

After breakfast, you will depart for Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, visit the Temple of the Tooth, one of the most sacred sites for Buddhists in Sri Lanka. This revered temple houses a relic of the Buddha’s tooth and offers a deep insight into the spiritual traditions of the country. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dance show that highlights the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka, with vibrant performances showcasing local dances and music.

Day 03: Kandy/Mahiyangana (Clay Making, Pan Weaving, Rice and Curry Lunch, Waterfall Trek)

Continue your journey to Mahiyangana, where you will experience the ancient art of clay making and ‘Pan’ weaving in a village house. These traditional crafts have been passed down through generations and are an integral part of local culture. Enjoy an authentic rice and curry lunch, a quintessential Sri Lankan dish. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic trek to discover two hidden waterfalls: Rathna Ella and Kaluwa Wetuna Ella, where you can marvel at the natural beauty and tranquil surroundings.

Day 04: Mahiyanganaya (Dambana Vedda Village, Bush Walk, Mountain Caves, BBQ Dinner)

Today, you will travel to Dambana Vedda Village, where you will spend the entire day with the Vedda people. Begin with a bush walk through the jungle, accompanied by local Vedda guides, who will share their deep knowledge of the forest and its flora and fauna. Continue on to the mountain caves, which have served as homes to the Vedda people for centuries. Visit a traditional Vedda dwelling and experience their way of life. As night falls, enjoy a BBQ dinner by a roaring campfire, accompanied by traditional Vedda dances, creating an unforgettable cultural experience.

Day 05: Mahiyanganaya/Gal Oya (Picnic Lunch, Jeep Safari)

Travel to Gal Oya, where you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the stunning surroundings of Gal Oya National Park. After lunch, embark on an exhilarating jeep safari through the park. This national park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and diverse bird species. The safari offers an exciting opportunity to witness Sri Lanka's rich biodiversity in its natural habitat.

Day 06: Gal Oya (Vedda Village Walk, Ancient Hunting Grounds, Native Songs and Folk Tales)

Today, the Gal Oya Vedda Village Chief will take you on a walk through the jungles of his ancestors. As you explore, you’ll learn about the ancient hunting grounds that the Vedda people have relied on for centuries. Along the way, listen to traditional native songs sung in the Vedda tongue and hear folk tales passed down from generation to generation. This is a rare opportunity to connect with the indigenous culture and history of Sri Lanka in an intimate and authentic setting.

Day 07: Gal Oya/Ella (Boat Safari, Cooking Experience)

In the morning, enjoy a boat safari in Gal Oya National Park, where you will have the chance to spot wildlife along the water and appreciate the park from a unique perspective. Later in the day, take part in a cooking experience at a local place, where you’ll learn to prepare traditional Sri Lankan dishes. After cooking, enjoy a delicious meal with your hosts, savouring the flavours of Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage.

Day 08: Ella/Weligama (Little Adam’s Peak Hike, Nine Arches Bridge)

Today, you’ll travel to Ella, a picturesque town surrounded by lush greenery and tea plantations. Begin with a morning hike to Little Adam’s Peak, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Next, visit the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, a marvel of colonial-era engineering and a popular photography spot. Spend the rest of the day exploring Ella’s natural beauty before heading to Weligama for an overnight stay.

Day 09: Weligama/Departure
